Counseling With Compassion

Welcome

At Process & Solutions Counseling the guiding principle is that change happens with and through compassion. I chose the name – Process & Solutions – because it aptly describes what happens in the counseling, or therapeutic, session. Counseling involves processing thoughts and feelings in a healthy manner. It also involves seeking solutions that are meaningful to you. I offer an approach to counseling that incorporates healthy skills to manage all that life presents to each individual. I focus on therapeutic techniques that have been proven effective. That said, every life, every person, is unique, so there are no one size fits all solutions. Each person must walk down his or her own path, but I can help you find balance, serenity, contentment, and joy in your life.

About Me

Sharon Heath, MS, LCPC

I am the founder of Process & Solutions Counseling, LLC. I have experience working with a wide variety of mental health issues and diagnoses. I have worked in the agency setting as a Sexual Assault Counselor at Mutual Ground, Inc, in Aurora, Illinois; as a Clinical Therapist at Linden Oaks Hospital; and in private practice. I use therapeutic approaches that have been proven to have significant, long-term beneficial outcomes. These techniques include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and, when appropriate, Cognitive Processing Therapy. My approach is to provide my clients the skills they need to achieve their goals, while also offering empathy, compassion, understanding, and validation. Moreover, my experience as a therapist has taught me that what people need, often more than anything, is the opportunity to process (talk about, write about, etc.) their thoughts and feelings in a healthy and appropriate manner. My goal is to help each individual find the solutions that are meaningful to his or her life.
